- Third party ink for Canon cli=42 black 0 people found this helpfulI've never owned a Canon printer. I've used Epson since the 1990s. I bought the Canon because is was so cheap and I need something to print proofs. Canon's black ran out before I was able to get the printer calibrated. So I bought two sets of ink from Ink Jets and the black is pretty good. It's dense and even in the images. The shadow areas do block up at "zone 2" so I took a little work but that was ok in the overall scheme of things. I'm waiting to see happens when I'm using four or five of the inks mixed with the Canon's inks. I would recommend the ink to a friend.
